| Shaping the future with precision industrial
machines. |
|
The Ferry Machine Company was founded in 1927 in Kent, Ohio, and established a reputation as a precision machine shop. In 1982 the company name was changed to Ferry Industries, Inc., to reflect the evolution of the company to a major manufacturer in the rotational molding, foam and composite cutting industries. In 1993 Ferry acquired the RotoCast™ line of rotational molding machines, which had been the industry leader. 1998 saw the addition of Quintax CNC Routers, as a wholly-owned subsidiary, and a marketing agreement with Plas Mec Mixers (Italy). In 1999 Ferry began offering GraviMold powder dispensing systems for rotational molders. These horizontal expansions of product offerings are to provide current and future clients in the polymer molding, aerospace composite, foam, wood and nonferrous metal cutting and shaping industries with required equipment to achieve accurate, consistent and increased production methods. In September 2000 Ferry purchased the assets of the rotational molding division of FSP Machinery (Canada) Inc. Ferry continues to manufacture the ClamShell, Shuttle and Rocking Oven machines, Easy Dump gaylord tilting systems and RotoFlow™ Blenders at the corporate headquarters in Stow, Ohio as well as continue to offer spare parts and service. |
Today, Ferry's in-house manufacturing, sales and engineering teams build a full range of machines to meet or exceed market needs. Increased use of Process Logic Controllers, advanced industrial computers and innovative engineering have advanced the processing capabilities of the machines Ferry Industries offers. These new standards of performance benefit Ferry's product users with more efficient material usage (less scrap), lower energy costs and faster cycle times with enhanced communications and process storage. Ferry builds the RotoSpeed line of machines to NEC (National Electrical Code), IRI (Industrial Risk Insurers), FM (Factory Mutual) and CE (Conformité Européene or European Conformity) standards as well. Ferry has developed a reputation for working with customers in the interest of producing the best possible product and is committed to introducing new designs, product refinements, and effective integration of ancillary equipment to advance the technology and value of Ferry products in the global market. Ferry is a member of A.R.M. (Association of Rotational Molders), A.R.M.A. (ARM Australasia), A.R.M.O. (Alliance of Rotational Moulding Organisations) and SPE (Society of Plastics Engineers).
