Qualifications
Five years of CNC experience in a machine shop. High school graduate or equivalent. Must have own hand tools required for position. Must be able to read blueprints, program machine, use precision measuring instruments, grind tool bits & do machine set-ups. Must be physically able to: lift 50 pounds, work 4-5 hour periods with ten-minute break, be able to work in areas requiring bending, stooping, turning, twisting, etc.
Primary Duties
Must read and interpret detailed blueprints and generate the machine program. Must have the ability and experience to perform highly diversified work in machining a wide variety of various-sized castings, burnouts, bar stock and fabricated parts, with a minimum of supervision using complicated drawings: hold tolerances as required by drawings; make difficult set-ups requiring extensive blocking/aligning of irregular-shaped parts; select feeds and speeds; devise tooling for various materials and conditions; and determine operation sequences.
