Regional Sales Manager


Regional Sales Manager or Sales Engineer for Ferry RotoSpeed Rotational Molding Machine product line & FEMCO Precision Cutting Equipment product line and their accessory products.

Responsible for all direct sales activities including new product introductions, defining of special products to key markets, sales support efforts and web/print advertising for the products. The position requires excellent technical and market knowledge of the North American & International rotational molding markets, coupled with leadership skills, customer relations skills and business planning/forecasting expertise.

This position works closely with other departmental leaders in the company (engineering, manufacturing operations and finance) and is responsible for providing senior level leadership and management for the RotoSpeed/FEMCO sales functions.

The candidate will be responsible for direct sales contacts with current and potential customers for RotoSpeed and/or FEMCO machines in the USA and/or international markets according to an established territory; the candidate will be the main contact between Ferry and the customer and as such will need to be able to operate independently with technical support from Ferry.


  •  minimum experience in the sales and marketing of capital equipment and accessories.
  •  management of sales function experience with a high-quality machinery manufacturing company with some parallels to Ferry’s products. Management experience of people is a plus.

  •  engineering and technical solutions sales knowledge of complex machinery and processes
  •  technical sales manager or engineer that leverages a strong technical background to sell both standard machinery and products as well as made-to-order or special equipment to meet the customers needs and expectations.


  • Prospect, develop and close new business with new and existing customers. Generating high-quality sales leads, following up after initial contact, securing and renewing orders, negotiating prices, completing sales, and assist in arranging deliveries.

Essential Functions

Job will require travel to North American and International clients

  •  Develop and maintain an effective and professional working relationship with external customers and internal colleagues to provide the best possible service.
  •  Prepare and give technical presentations to explain to customers how the products work.
  •  Work with the customers and Engineers to ensure the equipment meets the system requirements and customer expectations.
  •  Establish positive and effective communication with customers to understand their needs and offer engineered solutions.
  •  Review technical documents such as customer design specifications and requests to determine feasibility of design and applicability, in tandem with other departments.
  •  Plan for modifications to products to meet consumer demands.
  •  Recommend new and improved products to the customers and explain how the equipment will be more cost-effective.
  •  Support customer inquiries by fielding calls while being a source of information and problem solving to customers.
  •  Problem-solve engineered solution within a variety of constraints (budget/cost, available resources, space/footprint, time, etc.)
  •  Create a robust pipeline of customers for sales opportunities.
  •  Regularly travel to perform customer consultations to determine needs and solutions and obtain detailed information for estimates and proposals.
  •  Issue formal quotations to customers based on engineering estimates and designs.
  •  Analyze the market, customer, and competition situation, and derive measures to optimize the sales strategy in the region.
  •  Meet or exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts.
  •  Travel locally, domestically, and internationally required, about 50% of the time.
  •  Perform routine daily, weekly, and monthly administrative duties by established due dates.
  •  Collaborate with other departments (Accounts Receivable, etc.) and act as project manager when needed.
  •  Other duties as assigned.
