Qualifications:
• 5 years’ experience in job-shop welding position doing Mig, Tig, and stick welding; brazing, flame cutting with acetylene torch.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must have own hand tools required for position.
• Must be able to read blueprints, make layouts, fit up weldments and finish weld per drawings.
• Must be physically able to:
o Lift 50 lbs.
o Work 4–5-hour periods with 10 minutes break.
o Be able to work in areas requiring bending, stooping, turning, twisting, etc.
Primary Duties:
• Must read and interpret detailed blueprints.
• Must have the ability and experience to perform highly diversified work in welding a wide variety of various-sized fabrications, with a minimum of supervision using complicated drawings
• Hold tolerances as required by drawings; make layouts, fit weldments, pre-heat weld, post-heat, straighten, bend, bow, and burn as required by the blueprints.
Secondary Duties:
• Maintain welding equipment, i.e., keep welding machines clean, service vacuum unit on smoke torch, keep tooling organized and ready to use.
• Clean work area daily (end of shift).
• Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Instruct or train new operators.
Rate: Starting rate will depend upon individual’s qualifications.
